Akon’ Listening Party Surprise with MySpace

The day before the release of Akon’s new album “Freedom” JCMD got a chance to photograph the listening party with Akon. Much appreciated through Marcus Blasingame Editor in Chief of Black Men Magazine. There were many attedees for this special event; Marcus Blassingame of Black Men Magazine, Kardinal Offishall, DJ ENVY, DJ Khaled, Shontelle, Steve Rifkind, Red Cafe, Tony Yayo, Sylvia Rhone, Spliff Star, Cipha Sounds, Busta Rhymes, KONVICT Artist and many others.

The night started out in the green room of “opera” where the artist,managers, dancer, and guest relaxed and prepared. Soon after everybody arrived Shontelle hit the stage and warmed the stage up for Akon. DJ Khaled hit the stage and riled up the crowd repeating his famous quote “We the Best”. Out of no where Akon popped out and the crowd went wild. They performed hit like “We Taking Over” and then Kardinal Offishall came out to the stage to perform their smash hit “dangerous”.That was not it everybody cleared the stage and Akon took his fans through his discography from “Trouble”, “Konvicted” and “Freedom”. We had the pleasure of meeting Tila Teqauila As she unveiled her new book. “Hooking Up with Tila Tequila: A Guide to Love, Fame, Happiness, Success, and Being the Life of the Party”. The book hit stores December 2, 2008.
About the Author
Tila Tequila (née Nguyen), is a model, entertainer, and singer who lives in West Hollywood, California. She is known for her photographs in Stuff, Maxim, Time, Penthouse, her hit MTV reality dating show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, and her position as the most popular artist on MySpace. Nguyen was born in Singapore and raised in Houston, Texas.

She did not only show up to a crowd of hundreds of fans but she also signed all purchased copies of her book. Everybody who showed left happily with spirits lifted, talk about hand cramps from all the books she had to sign.

The Patron Naughty or Nice Party & New York Cares Coat Drive with MTV’s “The City” on December 18th, 2008
On Thursday, December 18th, The Patron Spirits Co. (Patron Tequila and Ultimat Vodka) and New York Cares came together at the “The Naughty or Nice Party”- the holiday party of the year in Soho! At the party, the cast of MTV’s “The City” dropped by the party to celebrate the holiday season and stir up some more exciting drama that you will be seeing in the coming months. Guests like Whitney Port, Olivia Palermo, America’s Next Top Model Alum Mila Bouzinova, and Victoria’s Secret model Ginta Lapina shed their coats to donate to New York Cares 20th Annual Coat Drive, munched on hors d’eurves provided by Whole Foods gourmet, sipped on drinks like the “Naughty,” the “Nice,” the “Polar Espresso,” and “Rudolph’s Reward”.
Guests also walked away with gift bags featuring items from:
Caudalie, HINT Water, Cutler Salon, Shobha, Eleni’s Cookies, Artisanal restaurant, Townhouse Spa, Completely Bare, Sally Hershberger, and Marie Belle Chocolates.
